teamLab Planets Tokyo 2026: Tickets, Water and What to Wear
For this guide, japan-japan.com read the official teamLab pages and checked every date and entry time on the official ticket site on 7 October 2026. That price check covers the 60 days from 7 October to 5 December 2026.
The museum opened on 7 July 2018. The teamLab Planets TOKYO official page gives its run as July 7, 2018 to the end of 2027, so plan your visit inside that window.
Hours, closed days and how long it takes
The photo below shows the teamLab Planets TOKYO building in Toyosu.

teamLab Planets opens every day from 8:00 to 22:00. On Thursday 31 December it closes early, at 20:00. Last entry is 1 hour before closing on every day.
The museum shuts on a few set days. The next ones are Thursday 5 November and Thursday 3 December 2026, and there is no closed day in October. If your trip falls in those weeks, our Tokyo in November and Tokyo in December guides list what else is on in the city.
Plan on 2 hours inside. The teamLab Borderless TOKYO official FAQ says most visitors spend around 2 hours at either Planets or Borderless. The time printed on your ticket is the time you get in. It does not limit how long you stay.
Add time for the queue. The ticket store says you may wait 30 to 60 minutes to be let in. At busy times, staff may ask people who have stayed in one room for a long time to move on.
If you miss your slot, you can still enter on the same day while the museum is open. Ask a staff member at the entrance. Once you leave, you cannot go back in, and the ticket is not refunded after you enter.
Part of the route is outdoors. The Moss Garden stays open in light rain, but it closes in typhoon-level wind or heavy rain. Its egg-shaped ovoids reflect the world around them by day and glow by themselves after sunset. On 7 October the official page gave sunset as 17:17.
The four steps below show what happens between the entrance gate and the exit.

Ticket prices by date and entry time
japan-japan.com checked every date and entry time on the official ticket site on 7 October 2026. We recorded the online price, tax included, for each of the 60 days from 7 October to 5 December 2026. The museum was open on 58 of those days, with up to 26 entry times a day.
The teamLab Planets official ticket store prices list adults from 3,800 JPY. That is the lowest price, and most slots cost more. Across our 60 days, adult tickets ran from ¥3,800 to ¥5,600, and the median was ¥5,200. The store uses dynamic pricing, so the price moves with both the date and the entry time.
Early entry costs the most. The average adult price for entry before 11:00 was ¥5,416. From 11:00 to 14:59 it was ¥5,294, from 15:00 to 17:59 it was ¥5,112, and from 18:00 it was ¥4,826. The last slot of the day, 20:30, averaged ¥4,593, the lowest of all 26 entry times. The chart below shows the average at eight of those times.

| Item | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 08:00 | 5407 yen | |
| 10:00 | 5421 yen | |
| 12:00 | 5407 yen | |
| 14:00 | 5221 yen | |
| 16:00 | 5221 yen | |
| 18:00 | 4993 yen | |
| 20:00 | 4793 yen | |
| 20:30 | 4593 yen | Last entry time |
The day of the week hardly matters. Weekdays averaged ¥5,171 over 38 days. Weekends and public holidays averaged ¥5,174 over 20 days. Pick your entry time and your date first, and ignore the weekday.
The date matters more. From 7 October to 15 November, the cheapest entry time each day cost ¥4,800 and the dearest cost ¥5,600. From 16 to 20 November the range was ¥4,400 to ¥5,200. From 21 to 30 November it was ¥4,200 to ¥5,000, and from 1 to 5 December it was ¥3,800 to ¥5,000. The cheapest dates in the whole period were 1, 2, 4 and 5 December.
The chart below shows how the cheapest adult price stepped down through the autumn.

| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| 7 Oct to 15 Nov | 4800 yen |
| 16 to 20 Nov | 4400 yen |
| 21 to 30 Nov | 4200 yen |
| 1 to 5 Dec | 3800 yen |
Book early for holiday weekends. When we checked, 166 of 1,508 entry times (11%) were already sold out, and 108 more had only a few tickets left. 29 dates had at least one sold-out entry time, but no date was sold out for the whole day.
The sold-out slots sat in the first week. 12 October had 16 sold-out times, 10 October had 15 and 8 October had 14. 11 October had 13, 9 October had 12 and 13 October had 11. Monday 12 October 2026 is Sports Day, a national holiday, so 10 to 12 October is a three-day weekend. Our October public holidays page lists it.
The table below compares the official price of each ticket type with what we saw in our 60-day check.
| Ticket | Official price | Our 60-day check | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adults 18+ | From ¥3,800 | ¥3,800 to ¥5,600 (median ¥5,200) | Changes by date and entry time |
| Junior high and high school | ¥2,800 | ¥2,800 | Student ID or passport |
| Ages 4 to 12 | ¥1,500 | ¥1,500 | 1 adult per 3 children |
| 3 and under | Free | Free | Counts toward the 3-child limit |
| Disability discount | From ¥1,900 | ¥1,900 to ¥2,800 (median ¥2,600) | 1 companion also discounted |
| Premium Pass, ages 4+ | ¥12,000 | ¥12,000 | No entry time, skips the entry queue |
Junior high and high school students pay ¥2,800, and staff may ask for ID. The help page accepts any student ID from any country, or an official document such as a passport. The disability ticket needs a disability certificate shown at the entrance. One companion who enters at the same time also gets the discount.
The Premium Pass costs ¥12,000 for anyone aged 4 and over. You choose the date but not the time. You go straight to the Information Centre instead of joining the entry queue. It does not skip queues inside the exhibition.
Buy from the teamLab Planets TOKYO Ticket Store. The teamLab Planets TOKYO official FAQ and the teamLab Planets official ticket store help page set these rules.
- Changes: Change the date or time up to 3 times, until 2 hours before entry. A 10:00 to 10:30 ticket can be changed until 8:00.
- Refunds: None. You cannot cancel a ticket once you buy it.
- Limit: Up to 10 tickets per order, issued as a QR code for your phone or a printout.
- Payment: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners, PayPay or UnionPay as a guest, with no fee on top.
The email with your QR ticket link arrives 2 days before your visit, and the code shows from 0:00 on the day. Lawson Ticket, Seven Ticket and Klook also sell tickets. If you buy through one of them, ask that seller about changes.

teamLab Planets water and what to wear
Every visitor goes barefoot. You take off your shoes at the locker area, and you take off socks and tights too. In some rooms the water rises to the knee of an adult. The ticket store says staff test the chlorine level once every hour and adjust the water temperature by season.
The photo below shows visitors wading through one of the water rooms.

If your clothes get soaked, change or dry off before you walk into the next room. Towels are handed out at the exit of the water rooms. The koi water room asks for an inseam of at least 40 cm, and smaller children go in only if an adult carries them.
Some floors are mirrors. A skirt or wide-legged trousers may show your underwear in the reflection. Staff lend free shorts in sizes XS to 6L, or a wrap. Ask a staff member, and hand the shorts back before you leave.
A few works cannot be done in heel-less sandals or high heels. Staff lend shoes for those free of charge.
The easiest outfit is trousers you can roll up above the knee and a top you do not mind getting splashed. Dress small children in clothes that can get wet, or bring a change. The help page asks you to hold your child’s hand in the dark rooms and reminds you the water is not for swimming.
Some rooms use strong flashing light, and some are dark. teamLab asks people who react to flashing light, fear dark or high places, or have heart palpitations to take care.

Lockers, photos and food rules
Lockers are free and stand just past the entrance gate. Each one is 23 cm wide, 34 cm deep and 37 cm high. That fits a day bag, not a suitcase. If your bag is bigger, you lock it yourself with a wire lock in the stroller storage area.
You cannot carry belongings into the artwork rooms. teamLab is not responsible for lost or stolen valuables, so keep your phone and wallet close. Each locker shows a QR code for the teamLab app, which explains the works near you.
Photos and videos are allowed. Flash is not. Tripods, monopods and selfie sticks 30 cm or longer are banned. Filming for commercial use needs teamLab’s consent in advance.
The illustration below sums up the four things staff will stop you doing.

Eating, drinking and smoking are banned in the exhibition. Food is served at the ramen shop and cafes inside, open 10:30 to 21:30. You can use them only after you enter with a ticket, and not before the time on that ticket. The ramen comes from Vegan Ramen UZU of Kyoto, which makes a bowl only for teamLab Planets.
Two of the spaces, Glass House and Emptiness Table, are artworks you enter by ordering food or drink. Children aged 12 and under cannot enter the Glass House.
The museum has free Wi-Fi named “teamLab Planets”. Being drunk or rude is against the rules, and animals other than assistance dogs are not allowed.

Children, strollers and wheelchairs
Children under 13 must come with a guardian aged 18 or over. Each adult can bring up to 3 children, and that count includes children aged 3 and under, who enter free. Ages 4 to 12 pay ¥1,500.
Front baby carriers are fine inside. Strollers are not. You leave the stroller in the parking area outside the building and lock it with a wire lock. Diaper changing tables are in the women’s restrooms, and the First-Aid Office can be used for breastfeeding.
Detour routes let you skip a room. They are open to very young children, people with disabilities and anyone who does not want to go in. Tell the nearest staff member.
The look-up below gives the short answer for four common situations.

Wheelchair users can visit. Before entry, staff explain the route for your situation. You can switch to one of the museum’s own wheelchairs, which are limited in number, or use your own with tire covers fitted. Accessible toilets are inside.
One work, Waterfall of Light Particles at the Top of an Incline, is closed to wheelchairs for safety. Two water works can be done in a special water wheelchair, but staff cannot push it, so come with a companion. Seven works in the Athletics Forest area can be watched only from set viewing spots.
On the mirrored floors, staff may ask guests with a total weight over 250 kg not to enter. Canes and prosthetic limbs are allowed, though some areas may be closed to you. Pregnant visitors cannot enter some areas.

Toyosu Station is on Tokyo Metro, so a subway pass covers that leg. Our Tokyo Subway Ticket page covers the pass for all Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway lines. The Common One-day Ticket for Tokyo Metro & Toei Subway costs 1,100 yen for 1 day, and children pay 550 yen. A Suica card also pays the subway fare.
By taxi it takes 10 minutes from Ginza and 15 minutes from Tokyo Station. Show the driver the Japanese name チームラボプラネッツ (chiimu rabo puranettsu), which means teamLab Planets.
A paid shuttle bus runs between GINZA SIX and the museum. The nearest Toei bus stop is Shin-Toyosu Eki-mae on route To-05, and teamLab warns that the To-05-2 bus gets very crowded. The museum has no parking.
From Haneda Airport, the museum is 15 minutes by car on the expressway. By train, our Haneda Airport to Tokyo Station page lists the Keikyu Line and JR at 33 minutes for 540 yen. The Tokyo Monorail and JR Yamanote Line cost 720 yen. From Tokyo Station, a taxi takes 15 minutes.
Ginza is another way in. Our Haneda Airport to Ginza page lists the Keikyu Line and Toei Asakusa Line at 29 minutes for 550 yen. From Ginza, take the paid shuttle from GINZA SIX or a 10-minute taxi.
From Narita Airport, our Narita Airport to Tokyo Station page lists the Narita Express at 53 minutes for 3,140 yen. The AIRPORT BUS TYO-NRT takes 65 minutes and costs 1,500 yen. Then take a taxi for 15 minutes.

Things to do near teamLab Planets
Toyosu Market is the closest big sight. Shijo-mae Station, the market stop, is 5 minutes on foot from teamLab Planets. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Toyosu Market visitor guide gives these hours.
- Visitor walkway: 5:00 to 17:00, including the restaurant and shop area.
- Toyosu Market PR Corner: 8:30 to 14:30, and until 11:30 on Saturdays.
- Rooftop garden: 5:00 to 23:00, open even on market holidays.
The photo below shows the Toyosu Market buildings.

On Sundays, national holidays and other market holidays you cannot enter the market, restaurants and shops included. The rooftop garden is the exception and stays open on market holidays. There is no visitor parking, so come by Yurikamome or route bus. The wholesale stalls sell only to trade buyers, and eating on the walkways and benches is not allowed.
The page below is the market’s own Japanese notice with those hours and visitor rules.

The box below sums up the market’s hours and access.
| Place | Toyosu Market |
|---|---|
| Hours | Visitor walkway 5:00-17:00; PR Corner 8:30-14:30 (Sat to 11:30); closed Sundays, national holidays and market holidays |
| Access | Shijo-mae Station (Yurikamome), 5 min walk from teamLab Planets; no visitor parking |
| Official site | Tokyo Metropolitan Government Toyosu Market visitor guide |
A morning plan works well. Walk the market from the walkway first, then go 5 minutes from Shijo-mae Station to teamLab Planets, which opens at 8:00. Entry before 11:00 averaged ¥5,416 in our check, so weigh the early start against a cheaper evening slot. Our guide to Nishiki Market, Kuromon and Tsukiji compares hours and manners at Japan’s food markets, Toyosu included.
Tokyo has a second teamLab museum. teamLab Borderless is inside Azabudai Hills, directly connected to Kamiyacho Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. It is a museum without a map, with no set route, and it is fully indoors. teamLab says most visitors spend around 2 hours at either museum.

FAQ
Is teamLab Planets permanent, or is it closing?
It has an end date. teamLab Planets opened on 7 July 2018, and the official page gives its run as lasting until the end of 2027. Book a visit before then if it is on your list.
What if you arrive late for your teamLab Planets entry time?
You can still enter on the same day while the museum is open. Ask a staff member at the venue when you arrive. Last admission is 1 hour before closing. If you know in advance, change the time online up to 2 hours before your slot, up to 3 times.
Can you wear a skirt or dress to teamLab Planets?
Yes, but some floors are mirrors and may show your underwear. Staff lend free shorts in sizes XS to 6L. The water also reaches an adult’s knee, so a long skirt is harder to keep dry than shorts or rolled-up trousers.
Can you bring a suitcase to teamLab Planets?
You can, but it will not fit the free lockers, which measure 23 x 34 x 37 cm. You lock a bigger bag yourself with a wire lock in the stroller storage area. Nothing can go into the artwork rooms, so travel light if you can.
