The Chiba 2-Day Pass costs 4,170 yen for 2 consecutive days (ticket machine in Japan); children pay 2,080 yen. 2 consecutive days within the season's period of use. Non-reserved seats on JR local and rapid trains in the area, plus designated private railways, bus routes and the Tokyo Wan Ferry. It is a seasonal pass: autumn sales run August 1 to October 30, 2026 for use September 1 to October 31, 2026; early spring sales run December 4, 2026 to February 27, 2027 for use January 4 to February 28, 2027.

What the pass covers

  • Non-reserved seats on JR local and rapid trains in the area, plus designated private railways, bus routes and the Tokyo Wan Ferry.
  • Railways: JR East in Chiba Prefecture, Isumi Railway, Kominato Railway, Choshi Electric Railway, Ryutetsu, Hokuso Railway, Keisei, Shibayama Railway and Toyo Rapid Railway.
  • Designated bus routes of Kominato Railway, Kujukuri Railway, Keisei Bus Chiba East, Keisei Taxi East, JR Bus Kanto and Nitto Kotsu.
  • The Tokyo Wan Ferry between Kanaya and Kurihama.

Not covered

  • On JR lines, limited express trains and Green Cars need a separate limited express or Green Car ticket.
  • The Keisei Skyliner, Evening Liner and Morning Liner need a separate liner ticket.
  • The Kominato Railway Boso Satoyama Torokko needs a separate reserved seat ticket.

Where to buy it

  • Only at reserved seat ticket machines in major JR East stations in Chiba Prefecture and at Kurihama Station; ticket offices do not sell it.
  • You can buy it up to one month before the day you start using it.

Seats and using the pass

  • On private railways, buses and the ferry, show the pass when you board.
  • The Isumi Railway is not running; show the pass to the driver of the replacement bus.

Refunds

If you cannot use it within its validity, a JR East ticket office refunds it for a 220 yen fee; no refund for cancellations or delays unless all services are canceled.

Good to know

  • Free bicycle rental at 12 places, such as tourist offices near stations, when you show a valid pass.
  • 5% off at some NewDays shops at JR stations east of Chiba Station when you show the pass.
  • JR East lists it as a limited-time offer.
