Tokyo DisneySea Rides: Wait Times, Height Limits, Closures
The ride names, ports and Premier Access marks come from the Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo DisneySea attractions list. It showed 33 results for 8 October 2026. The wait times are our own record of the posted standby times shown to guests. The park opened in September 2001, according to the Oriental Land Co. Tokyo Disney Resort history page. For tickets, hours and food, start with our Tokyo DisneySea guide.

Tokyo DisneySea best rides by wait time
japan-japan.com recorded the posted standby time for every attraction each time it changed. We logged 6 days, from Saturday 3 October to Thursday 8 October 2026. That covers 2 weekend days and 4 weekdays during Disney Halloween. Each average is weighted by time between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. while the ride was running.
A posted time is the wait shown to guests for that ride. It is not a measured queue. One week in early October also tells you little about holidays, summer breaks or other months. Read the list as a guide to which rides tend to run long, not as a promise for your date.
- Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey: 125 min average, 200 min highest posted
- Journey to the Center of the Earth: 122 min average, 200 min highest.
- Soaring: Fantastic Flight: 120 min average, 180 min highest.
- Toy Story Mania!: 96 min average, 200 min highest.
- Raging Spirits: 63 min average, 140 min highest.
- Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival: 46 min average, 100 min highest.
- Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure: 41 min average, 100 min highest.
- Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies: 39 min average, 60 min highest.
- Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster: 23 min average, 40 min highest.
- Blowfish Balloon Race: 22 min average, 40 min highest.
- Jasmine’s Flying Carpets: 21 min average, 40 min highest.
- 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: 20 min average, 50 min highest.
The top three sat close together, about two hours each. Journey to the Center of the Earth was the odd one out. It ran longer on weekdays, at 126 minutes, than on the weekend, at 114. The photo below shows the ride at Mount Prometheus, the volcano in the middle of Mysterious Island.

Most other big rides were busier on the weekend. Frozen Journey averaged 134 minutes on the weekend and 120 on weekdays. Soaring went from 128 to 117, and Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure from 51 to 37. Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival held at 46 minutes on both.
Toy Story Mania! showed the biggest weekend jump among the top four: 111 minutes on the weekend against 89 on weekdays. The next photo shows the ride’s entrance in American Waterfront.

Ten attractions averaged 15 minutes or less across the 6 days. The longest of these were The Magic Lamp Theater (15 min), Scuttle’s Scooters (14) and Jumpin’ Jellyfish (13). The DisneySea Electric Railway followed at 11 from American Waterfront and 10 from Port Discovery. Caravan Carousel averaged 8 and Big City Vehicles 7. The Transit Steamer Line from Lost River Delta, Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage and The Leonardo Challenge all averaged 6.
DisneySea ran longer than its sister park in the same week. Its top 10 rides averaged 74 minutes on the weekend and 68 on weekdays, against 58 and 36 at Tokyo Disneyland. (data: Powered by ThemeParks.wiki)

Tokyo DisneySea rides in each of the 8 themed ports
The official list sorts every attraction into one of 8 themed ports. The photo below shows Mediterranean Harbor, the first port on the list, where Soaring: Fantastic Flight and the Venetian Gondolas sit.

Here is the list by port, with the type the park gives each one. “Premier Access” marks the rides where you can pay for a time slot.
- Mediterranean Harbor: Venetian Gondolas, Soaring: Fantastic Flight (ride/theater, Premier Access), DisneySea Transit Steamer Line. Fortress Explorations and “The Leonardo Challenge” are walk-through attractions.
- American Waterfront: Turtle Talk (theater), Tower of Terror (ride, Premier Access), DisneySea Electric Railway, DisneySea Transit Steamer Line, Toy Story Mania! (ride, Premier Access), Big City Vehicles.
- Port Discovery: DisneySea Electric Railway, Nemo & Friends SeaRider (ride).
- Lost River Delta: Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull (ride, Premier Access), DisneySea Transit Steamer Line, Raging Spirits (ride, Premier Access).
- Fantasy Springs: Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure and Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival (all Premier Access), plus Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies.
- Arabian Coast: Caravan Carousel, Jasmine’s Flying Carpets, Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage, The Magic Lamp Theater (theater).
- Mermaid Lagoon: Ariel’s Playground, Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Scuttle’s Scooters, Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster, Blowfish Balloon Race, Mermaid Lagoon Theater, The Whirlpool.
- Mysterious Island: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Journey to the Center of the Earth (ride, Premier Access).
Fantasy Springs is the eighth themed port, and any guest inside Tokyo DisneySea can walk in. Its rides are short: Frozen Journey takes about 6.5 minutes, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure about 6 minutes and Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival about 5 minutes. Fairy Tinker Bell’s Busy Buggies lasts about 2 minutes. Our Fantasy Springs guide covers the hotel and restaurants.
The steamer line and the electric railway each appear more than once because they have a stop in more than one port. Arabian Coast has one change. From June 23 through October 26, 2026, Caravan Carousel runs only its lower level.
Mermaid Lagoon is the port to head for in rain. The official rainy-day tips say it has many indoor attractions, so you can stay dry even in line. Aquatopia, which older guides list in Port Discovery, is not on the current official list.

Height limits at Tokyo DisneySea
The official FAQ sets three height lines. Nemo & Friends SeaRider and Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster need 90 cm and over. Soaring: Fantastic Flight, Tower of Terror and Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure need 102 cm and over.
The strictest line is 117 cm and over. It covers Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull, Raging Spirits and Journey to the Center of the Earth. Raging Spirits also has an upper limit: no more than 195 cm. The table lists all 8 rides with their port and Premier Access price.
| Ride | Themed port | Min. height | Paid access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nemo & Friends SeaRider | Port Discovery | 90 cm | No |
| Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster | Mermaid Lagoon | 90 cm | No |
| Soaring: Fantastic Flight | Mediterranean Harbor | 102 cm | 2,500 yen |
| Tower of Terror | American Waterfront | 102 cm | 1,500 yen |
| Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure | Fantasy Springs | 102 cm | 2,000 yen |
| Indiana Jones Adventure | Lost River Delta | 117 cm | 1,500 yen |
| Raging Spirits | Lost River Delta | 117 cm to 195 cm | 1,500 yen |
| Journey to the Center of the Earth | Mysterious Island | 117 cm | 2,000 yen |
Every other attraction on the list sits under the filter for no height restriction. That includes Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival, Toy Story Mania! and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Measure your child before the trip. A child who does not meet a ride’s height rule cannot enter, even with Premier Access.
The chart below shows how the choice of rides grows at each line. A child under 90 cm can still ride everything without a limit.

Families with small children do well in Mermaid Lagoon and Arabian Coast. Only Flounder’s Flying Fish Coaster there has a height line. Jumpin’ Jellyfish, Scuttle’s Scooters, Blowfish Balloon Race, The Whirlpool, Jasmine’s Flying Carpets and Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage have none.
Rides have no age limit, but children under 7 must ride with someone aged 16 or older. A rental stroller costs 1,000 yen for one day at Stroller & Wheelchair Rentals in Mediterranean Harbor. It fits a child from 7 months old, up to 100 cm and 15 kg. Children aged 3 and under also ride free on an adult’s Premier Access.

Premier Access rides: Soaring, Frozen and 7 more
Disney Premier Access is a paid time slot with a shorter wait. The Tokyo Disney Resort Disney Premier Access page lists 9 rides at Tokyo DisneySea. Frozen Journey and Soaring cost 2,500 yen per access. Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival, Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure, Toy Story Mania! and Journey to the Center of the Earth cost 2,000 yen.
Tower of Terror, Raging Spirits and Indiana Jones Adventure cost 1,500 yen. Three shows also sell Premier Access at 2,500 yen each: Dance the Globe!, Believe! Sea of Dreams and Dreams Take Flight. The fee does not include your park ticket.

| Item | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Frozen Journey | 2500 yen | |
| Soaring | 2500 yen | |
| Center of the Earth | 2000 yen | |
| Toy Story Mania! | 2000 yen | |
| Rapunzel’s Lantern | 2000 yen | |
| Peter Pan’s Never Land | 2000 yen | |
| Raging Spirits | 1500 yen | |
| Tower of Terror | 1500 yen | Closed until 5 Nov |
The bar chart shows the price for each ride. Set against our wait log, the two 2,500 yen rides had averages of 125 and 120 minutes. Toy Story Mania! at 2,000 yen averaged 96, while Raging Spirits at 1,500 yen averaged 63. In that week, the two 2,500 yen rides were also two of the three longest waits. Your date may look different.
The rules are strict. You buy in the Tokyo Disney Resort App after you enter the park, and only for the park you entered. Each park ticket buys one Premier Access for one person, and you cannot share it. After a purchase, you can buy for another ride 60 minutes later, or after your time slot starts, whichever is earlier.
The app takes credit, debit and prepaid cards. Cards issued outside Japan with the JCB, VISA, MasterCard or American Express logo work. Code payments such as PayPay or Alipay do not. Without the app or a card, buy at Guest Relations, Lost River Outfitters or Agrabah Marketplace, all open all day.
You cannot change, cancel or get a refund after you tap OK. Premier Access is sold in limited numbers and can sell out. The flow chart below sums up the two questions to ask.

The free Tokyo Disney Resort 40th Anniversary Priority Pass ended on August 31, 2026. Two free services remain. Entry Request is a lottery for some shows. Standby Pass gives a free return time for venues that need one. The Tokyo Disney Resort Standby Pass page lists them, and right now they are mostly shops. You can hold Premier Access, Entry Request and Standby Pass at the same time. Our Tokyo Disney Resort App guide walks through each screen.

Dates can move, and the Tokyo Disney Resort Theme Park Terms of Use say attractions may change, close or shorten hours without notice. Check the closure list on the morning of your visit.
If a ride stops while you are in line, staff may hand out Multiple Experiences. That lets you use a replacement experience later in the day.
Planning a day of Tokyo DisneySea rides
Our log shows the waits rise fast after opening. On weekdays, the top 10 rides averaged 55 minutes at 9 a.m. and 79 minutes at 10 a.m., the longest hour. The shortest weekday hour was 7 p.m., at 38 minutes.
Weekends peaked later in the day. The 3 p.m. hour hit 84 minutes and 7 p.m. dropped to 43. On both, the 7 p.m. hour had the shortest posted lines, and on weekdays 9 a.m. came next.
Opening hours change by day, so check the Park Operation Calendar. For 8 and 9 October 2026 it showed Tokyo DisneySea open 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. The calendar also shows the adult 1-Day Passport price for each date. On 9 October it was 10,900 yen. Our Tokyo Disney tickets guide compares the dates.
The nighttime show, Believe! Sea of Dreams, runs about 30 minutes in Mediterranean Harbor. The fireworks show, Sky Full of Colors, lasts about 5 minutes and may be canceled because of wind. The park posts next month’s show schedule around the 8th of the month before.
Events change the park mood too. The Tokyo Disney Resort official website top page lists Disney Halloween from September 16 through October 31, 2026. Full character costumes are allowed from October 16 through 31, but not from October 1 to 15. Disney Christmas runs from November 11 through December 25, 2026.
Before you go, run through the four checks below.

Leave your suitcase outside. Carts such as suitcases and roller cases are not allowed in the park, so use the coin lockers outside the gate. For the season, read our guides to Tokyo in October and Tokyo in November. Our Japan holidays in November page shows Culture Day on Tuesday 3 November 2026.

Which DisneySea rides people in Japan recommend
In October 2026 we ran an online survey of people living in Japan who have been to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. 123 people answered; after removing answers that clearly contradicted themselves, 100 remained. The numbers below are shares of those respondents, not of all visitors. See the full survey results and how we asked.
Asked which Tokyo DisneySea attractions they would recommend to a first-timer (more than one answer allowed), the 86 who had been named Soaring: Fantastic Flight (38.4%), Toy Story Mania! (34.9%), Tower of Terror (32.6%) and Journey to the Center of the Earth (27.9%). As the single best attraction, 24.4% (21 of 86) chose Soaring: Fantastic Flight, more than any other.
Asked which attractions are not worth a long wait, 43.0% (37 of 86) said none in particular; the most named were 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (20.9%), Turtle Talk (9.3%), Mermaid Lagoon Theater (9.3%) and Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival (9.3%).
“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is my favorite. The strange undersea world is built in such detail that it really excites me, and I ride it about three times a day whenever I go. At night the wait is short, so it is easy to get on.”
— Woman in her 40s, Kanto (Tokyo area). Original Japanese (excerpt): 「海底2万マイルがいちばん大好きです。…パークに行くと1日3回くらい乗車します。夜であれば待ち時間が短く、乗りやすいのも魅力です。」
“Soaring at DisneySea. You don’t just ride it: the film is so sharp it feels real, and with the scent of plants and so on, it feels as if you are really there.”
— Woman in her 20s, Kanto (Tokyo area). Original Japanese (excerpt): 「ディズニーシーのソアリン。…映像が鮮明でとてもリアルに感じたり、植物などの香りでまるでそこにいるかのような体験ができるため。」
