Tokyo Disney Resort: Which Park, Ticket Prices and Trains
Tokyo Disney Resort is the area around JR Maihama Station, with two theme parks, six Disney hotels and the Disney Resort Line monorail. You choose the park when you buy the ticket, so decide before you book.

The photo above shows the plaza in front of the castle at Tokyo Disneyland. Inside it is Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall, where you can see the throne room and the glass slipper. It has been closed since 1 October 2026, with no reopening date set.
Height decides more than anything else. At Tokyo Disneyland the lowest rule is 81 cm, for The Happy Ride with Baymax. The strictest is 102 cm, for Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. Tokyo DisneySea has three rides at 117 cm, including Raging Spirits, which also has an upper limit of 195 cm. Children under 7 must ride with someone aged 16 or older.

The chart above turns this into two questions. If a child in your group is under 117 cm, start with Tokyo Disneyland, where every ride limit is 102 cm or lower. If you want Fantasy Springs and Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey, go to Tokyo DisneySea. If neither applies, the price is the same either way.
Tokyo Disneyland vs DisneySea compared
Tokyo Disneyland opened in April 1983. Tokyo DisneySea opened in September 2001. Its 25th anniversary, Sparkling Jubilee, runs from 15 April 2026 to 31 March 2027.

The photo shows Mediterranean Harbor at Tokyo DisneySea, the stage for the park’s harbor shows, including the nighttime show Believe! Sea of Dreams.
Tokyo Disneyland has 7 themed lands, including Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland. The Tokyo Disneyland official attractions list showed 37 attractions on 8 October 2026. Most of its rides have no height rule, such as Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Peter Pan’s Flight and “it’s a small world”.

Fantasy Springs is the eighth themed port of Tokyo DisneySea. It has three areas: Frozen Kingdom, Peter Pan’s Never Land and Rapunzel’s Forest. Right now there are no limits on entering it, so you walk in like any other port. To ride, you wait in the standby line or buy Disney Premier Access.
Check closures before you pick a date. The table lists the main ones. The Diamond Variety Muster dinner show at Tokyo Disneyland is also closed until 20 November 2026. At Tokyo DisneySea, the Transit Steamer Line stop at Mediterranean Harbor is closed until 30 November 2026.
The parks do not hand out paper Guide Maps, so download the Tokyo Disney map for each park from the official site before you go. Inside the park, the Tokyo Disney Resort App shows the map and your current location without logging in.

Ticket prices by date: what we found
On 8 October 2026, japan-japan.com read the official Tokyo Disney Resort ticket calendar for every date on sale. That was 9 October to 8 December 2026, or 61 dates, for both parks, every ticket type and every age group. The two parks had the same price on every date.
The Tokyo Disney Resort official park tickets page lists four day tickets. The 1-Day Passport lets you in from opening time. The After 3 Passport starts at 3:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays, and the After 5 Passport starts at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.

The guide above matches each ticket to how you plan the day. On the Japanese site the weekend ticket appears as アフター3パスポート(休日限定) (afutā surī pasupōto, kyūjitsu gentei), which means “After 3 Passport, holidays only”.
Ages follow the day of your visit. Adults are 18 and over, juniors 12 to 17 and children 4 to 11. Children aged 3 and under get in free. There is no senior ticket, no Annual Passport on sale and no open-date ticket.
On the dates on sale, the adult 1-Day Passport came in four prices: ¥9,900, ¥10,900, ¥11,900 and ¥12,400. The most common was ¥10,900, on 41 of the 61 dates. The calendar also shows ¥8,900 on 6, 7 and 8 January 2027, the lowest price anywhere, but those dates were not on sale yet.
The day’s adult price sets every other ticket that day. On a ¥10,900 day, a junior 1-Day Passport costs ¥9,000 and a child pays ¥5,600. The After 3 Passport is ¥8,700 for adults and the After 5 Passport is ¥6,600. On a ¥12,400 day, juniors pay ¥10,200 and children ¥5,900.

The cheapest dates on sale were 2 to 6 November 2026, all at ¥9,900. That week includes Tuesday 3 November, a national holiday; see our November 2026 public holidays page before you plan. The most expensive dates, at ¥12,400, were all Saturdays and Sundays, such as 11 October, 14 November and 5 December 2026.
Prices went up on 10 October 2026, when higher-priced tickets were added. The calendar shows ¥10,900 on 9 October and ¥11,900 on 10 October.
Tickets go on sale every day at 2:00 p.m. Japan time, for the same date two months later. You can buy them only on the official website and the Tokyo Disney Resort App. Both need a MyDisney Account, and you pay by credit card, PayPay or Alipay. Each purchase holds up to 10 tickets.
The parks do not sell tickets at the gate, and the ticket booths are closed. If tickets are still available, you can buy them online on the day of your visit. Some travel agencies and convenience stores also sell date-fixed tickets.

Getting to Tokyo Disney Resort
Take the train to JR Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line or the JR Musashino Line. From Tokyo Station the ride takes about 20 minutes with no change. Allow 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the other JR lines or the Shinkansen to the Keiyo Line platform at Tokyo Station. Some limited express trains on the Keiyo Line, such as the Wakashio, do not stop at Maihama.

The photo shows the Disney Resort Line, the monorail you take to reach Tokyo DisneySea. Tokyo Disneyland is about a five-minute walk from JR Maihama Station, so you do not need the monorail for it.

The steps above are the full trip from Tokyo Station. For Tokyo DisneySea, leave Maihama Station by the South Exit and turn left. Walk about 2 minutes to Resort Gateway Station and ride the Disney Resort Line about 9 minutes to Tokyo DisneySea Station. The park entrance is about 1 minute on foot.
The Disney Resort Line loops its four stations in about 13 minutes. A single ticket costs ¥300 for ages 12 and over and ¥150 for children. A 1-Day pass costs ¥700, or ¥350 for a child. You can tap a Suica card, PASMO or another Japanese IC card such as ICOCA at the gate.
From the airports, the Airport Limousine bus runs straight to both parks and the hotels. The Airport Limousine Haneda to Tokyo Disney Resort timetable lists a fare of ¥1,300 for adults and ¥650 for children. The first bus leaves Haneda Terminal 3 at 7:35 and reaches Tokyo Disneyland at 8:15. Our Haneda Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort page lists 17 buses a day from Terminal 3.
From Narita the bus costs ¥2,900, or ¥1,450 for a child, according to the Airport Limousine Narita to Tokyo Disney Resort timetable. Our Narita Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort page lists 22 buses a day from Terminal 1. Tokyo Disney Resort puts the bus at about 55 to 60 minutes from Haneda and 65 to 90 minutes from Narita. Our Airport Limousine bus guide covers the other routes.
By train from Haneda Airport, the cheapest fare is ¥880 on the Keikyu Line and JR. Tokyo Disney Resort puts it at about 50 minutes with two transfers, not counting the time you spend changing. From Narita Airport it is about 80 minutes by train with one transfer.
The resort asks guests to use public transport. Guest Parking costs ¥4,000 for a car under 5 m, and leaving after closing can take a long time in heavy traffic.

Premier Access, Priority Pass and the app
Disney Premier Access is a paid service in the Tokyo Disney Resort App. You pick a time for a ride and wait less, or you pick a seat area for a parade or show. The Tokyo Disney Resort official Disney Premier Access page lists the rides and prices.
At Tokyo Disneyland, 7 attractions take it, from ¥1,000 for Haunted Mansion and Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! to ¥2,500 for Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast. At Tokyo DisneySea, 9 attractions take it, from ¥1,500 for Tower of Terror to ¥2,500 for Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey and Soaring: Fantastic Flight.

The photo shows Frozen Kingdom in Fantasy Springs, home of Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey. Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival and Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure each cost ¥2,000 with Premier Access.
The fee does not include your park ticket. Each park ticket can buy one Premier Access at a time, for one person, and you cannot give it to someone else. Numbers are limited and can sell out. You can buy your next one 60 minutes after the last purchase, or at your booked time if that comes first.
Pay by card: overseas cards with the JCB, VISA, MasterCard or American Express logo work, but PayPay and Alipay do not. Children aged 3 and under ride free with an adult who holds one. You cannot change or refund it after you pay.
The free 40th Anniversary Priority Pass ended on 31 August 2026. A free Standby Pass gives you a return time to join a queue, and at Tokyo Disneyland it now covers shops, capsule toys and games. An Entry Request is a lottery for some shows and character greetings, with one try per venue per day.
Download the app before you travel. It needs iOS 16.0 or Android 11.0 or later, and it shows English if your phone is set to English. You need a MyDisney Account to buy anything, and you must be 13 or older to make one.

Where to stay: Disney hotels and Official Hotels
There are six Disney hotels. Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel sits inside Fantasy Springs. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel stands right in front of Tokyo Disneyland, and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta is part of Tokyo DisneySea. The other three are Disney Ambassador Hotel, Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel and Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel.
The biggest reason to stay is tickets. Disney hotel guests can buy park tickets at the hotel for their stay, even when the official website is sold out. These are 1-Day Passports, one per guest per day.
The second reason is Happy Entry, which is free. At Tokyo Disneyland, guests of all six Disney hotels enter 15 minutes before other guests. At Tokyo DisneySea, only Fantasy Springs Hotel and MiraCosta guests get it, 5 to 15 minutes early. You cannot use it on your check-in day, and you still need a 1-Day Passport.
Bookings open at 11:00 a.m. four months before your stay, for up to five nights and three rooms at a time. Online bookings need a deposit of ¥30,000 per room for luxury and deluxe hotels and ¥15,000 for moderate and value hotels. Rates are for two adults, and up to two children aged 11 or under stay free. In October 2026, Fantasy Chateau rooms cost ¥101,500 to ¥130,000 on the dates still open.
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. Check-out is at 12:00 noon, or 11:00 a.m. at the Celebration Hotel.
The six Official Hotels, such as Hilton Tokyo Bay and Hotel Okura Tokyo Bay, share the free Disney Resort Cruiser shuttle to Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line. Four Partner Hotels in Shin-Urayasu run a free shuttle of about 15 minutes to the parks.
No hotel shuttle runs from JR Maihama Station, and no free shuttle runs from Haneda or Narita. Take the Airport Limousine bus instead, since it stops at the Disney and Official hotels.

A Tokyo Disney day and what to bring
Most dates run from 9:00 to 21:00. A few close early, such as Tokyo DisneySea at 18:30 on 27 November 2026. The Tokyo Disney Resort official Before visiting the parks page asks you to check the calendar before you choose a day.
- Buy your ticket for one park and one date on the official website or app.
- Open the app on the day; your ticket code appears from 12:00 midnight.
- Go through the bag and metal detector check at the entrance.
- Scan your ticket at the reader, with your whole group together.
- To leave and come back the same day, tell a Cast Member and keep your ticket.
The Tokyo Disney Resort official Theme Park Terms of Use list what you cannot bring. That includes alcohol, drones, pets and suitcases or other wheeled cases. Your own meals, cans and bottles are also banned unless you have a dietary need such as a food allergy.
Leave suitcases in the coin lockers outside the park. Cash-only lockers cost ¥400 to ¥800, and lockers that also take e-money cost ¥500 to ¥1,500. The two largest sizes are only outside. On busy days, a temporary baggage spot takes suitcases for ¥1,500 per item.
Eat packed meals at the Picnic Area outside the park. Candy, gum, snacks for small children, water bottles and plastic bottles of soft drinks are fine to bring in. Some restaurants in both parks serve beer, but Japanese law does not let anyone under 20 drink.
You cannot use selfie sticks, tripods or monopods. A small grip that fits in one hand is fine if you keep it below head height. Guests aged 12 and over should not wear costumes, except on the set Disney Halloween dates. In 2026 those dates are 15 to 30 September and 16 to 31 October.
Rain does not get you a refund. If you bought from the official site or app, you can change an unused ticket’s date for free, any number of times. Rain gear is on sale in the parks. For clothing, check our Japan in November guide and Japan in December guide.

What people in Japan who have been would recommend
In October 2026 we ran an online survey of people living in Japan who have been to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. 123 people answered; after removing answers that clearly contradicted themselves, 100 remained. The numbers below are shares of those respondents, not of all visitors. See the full survey results and how we asked.
Asked which park they would recommend to a friend on a first trip to Japan who has just one day, 34.0% (34 of 100) said Tokyo Disneyland and 37.0% (37 of 100) said Tokyo DisneySea. 13.0% (13 of 100) said to skip Disney and see something else in Japan.
The answer changed with the kind of trip. For adults only, 76.0% (76 of 100) would pick DisneySea; with children of primary school age or younger, 85.0% (85 of 100) would pick Disneyland. 62.0% (62 of 100) would give a first-time visitor two days, one for each park. Among the 85 who had been to both parks, 34.1% (29 of 85) like Disneyland better or a little better, 35.3% (30 of 85) like DisneySea better or a little better, and 30.6% (26 of 85) like them about the same.
“It depends on what your friend is like and who they are going with, but if you want the safe choice, I’d recommend Disneyland. Disneyland works for adults and children alike, in any season, so for a foreign visitor who can only come once in a while, that’s the one. DisneySea is most fun in summer, so if you’re going in summer, pick DisneySea.”
— Woman in her 20s, Kanto (Tokyo area). Original Japanese (excerpt): 「外さないという意味ならランドをおすすめします。…ディズニーシーは夏が一番楽しいので、夏に行くならシーがおすすめ。」
“I’d recommend DisneySea. Disneyland is built much like the Disney parks abroad, with many of the same area themes and attractions, but a lot of DisneySea was made only for Japan, so it feels fresh.”
— Woman in her teens, Kanto (Tokyo area). Original Japanese (excerpt): 「ランドは、海外ディズニーの模倣に近い形で作られており…シーは日本オリジナルのものが多く、新鮮な気持ちで楽しめると思うから。」

FAQ
Can you visit Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea on the same day?

How far ahead can you buy Tokyo Disney tickets?
Two months ahead. Tickets go on sale every day at 2:00 p.m. Japan time for the same date two months later. If that date does not exist in the month, sales start at 2:00 p.m. on the 1st of the next month.
Can you buy Tokyo Disney tickets at the park entrance?
No. The parks do not sell tickets and the ticket booths are closed. Buy on the official website or the app, even on the day if tickets remain. Disney hotel guests can also buy at their hotel.
Can you bring food and drinks into Tokyo Disney?
Only snacks and soft drinks. Candy, gum, snacks for small children, water bottles and plastic bottles are allowed, but your own meals, cans and alcohol are not. Eat packed meals at the Picnic Area outside the gates.
