Where to buy an IC card at Narita Airport
- Terminal 1 Station
- At Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station (Keisei), TOURIST PASMO costs 2,000 yen and is sold at the SKYLINER & KEISEI INFORMATION CENTER.
- Terminal 2 Station (Terminal 2・3)
- At Narita Airport Terminal 2 Station (Keisei), TOURIST PASMO costs 2,000 yen and is sold at the SKYLINER & KEISEI INFORMATION CENTER.
- Terminal 1 Station
- The SKYLINER & KEISEI INFORMATION CENTER at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and serves customers in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
- Terminal 2・3 Station
- The SKYLINER & KEISEI INFORMATION CENTER at Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and serves customers in English, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
- Terminal 1 Station and Terminal 2・3 Station
- Keisei's Skyliner FAQ says a PASMO card can be purchased from the ticket machines at both Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station and Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station.
- Terminal 1 Station and Terminal 2・3 Station
- At these ticket machines you press PASMO on the left of the screen and then PASMO in the center, choose whether to put your name on the card, choose the amount, and insert coins or bills.
- Terminal 1 Station
- JR East sells Welcome Suica at the JR EAST Travel Service Center and at Welcome Suica ticket vending machines at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station (and at Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station).
- Terminal 2・3 Station
- JR East sells Welcome Suica at the JR EAST Travel Service Center and at Welcome Suica ticket vending machines at Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 Station (and at Narita Airport Terminal 1 Station).
- Terminal 1 Station
- The JR EAST Travel Service Center at Narita Airport Terminal 1 is open from 8:30 to 19:00 all year round. By train, leave through the JR Line and Keisei Line ticket gates (B1F) and it is directly at the end.
- Terminal 2・3 Station
- The JR EAST Travel Service Center at Narita Airport Terminal 2・3 is open from 8:30 to 20:00 all year round. By train, leave through the JR Line gates (B1F) and it is directly at the end.
- Terminal 1 and Terminal 2・3 (B1F)
- Narita Airport's Train Tickets page lists four counters before security: JR EAST Travel Service Centers and SKYLINER & KEISEI INFORMATION CENTERS in the T1 Central Building (B1F) and the T2 Main Building (B1F). Tickets are also sold in front of each line's ticket gates (B1F).

- Price
- Welcome Suica is sold at 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 10,000 yen for adults and children.
- Deposit
- Welcome Suica needs no deposit when you buy the card.
- Expiry
- The validity period is 28 days including the date of purchase, and the GOOD THRU date on the back of the card is not the expiration date.
- Refund
- Welcome Suica cannot be refunded, whatever the validity period or the remaining balance on the card.
TOURIST PASMO
- Price
- Narita Airport sells TOURIST PASMO for 2,000 yen with 2,000 yen of value on it. Haneda Airport sells it for 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 or 10,000 yen, and the price you pay is the value on the card.
- Deposit
- There is no deposit for TOURIST PASMO.
- Expiry
- TOURIST PASMO is valid for 28 days from the date of purchase.
- Refund
- Value added to TOURIST PASMO is not refunded, even if you no longer need the card.
Suica
- Price
- JR East lists Suica cards at 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000 and 10,000 yen for adults and children.
- Deposit
- A new Suica card includes a 500 yen deposit in its price, and the deposit is refunded when you return the card.
- Expiry
- A Suica card becomes invalid if it is not used for 10 years.
- Refund
- Return a JR East Suica at a JR East station: you get the balance minus a 220 yen fee, plus the 500 yen deposit.
PASMO
- Price
- PASMO's rules set the sale price of a PASMO at 1,000 yen including a 500 yen deposit. Operators may sell it at other prices in 1,000-yen steps, up to 20,000 yen.
- Deposit
- A 500 yen deposit is included in the price of a new PASMO card. It cannot be used for fares or shopping, and it is refunded when you turn in the card.
- Expiry
- A PASMO becomes invalid if it is not exchanged, used or topped up for 10 years, counted from the day after the last such use.
- Refund
- A PASMO you no longer need can be refunded if you return the card. The stored balance cannot be refunded on its own, and the 500 yen deposit is refunded with it.
Can you buy a card here now?
- B1F ticket floors have few or no currency exchanges and ATMs
- Keisei warns that the B1F ticket counter floors of Narita Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2・3 have no foreign-currency exchange counters or ATMs, or only a limited number, and advises using those on the Arrival Lobby floor (1F).
- Welcome Suica: one card per person
- JR East says that, in principle, only one Welcome Suica is sold to each person.
- Welcome Suica cannot be refunded
- JR East says Welcome Suica cannot be refunded, whatever the validity status or the balance left on the card.
- TOURIST PASMO cannot be refunded
- Value added to TOURIST PASMO, which is sold at Narita Airport, is not refunded even if you no longer need the card.
