Tokyo Disneyland Rides: the short answer

Tokyo Disneyland rides: 37 attractions are on the official list, 7 sell Premier Access at 1,000 to 2,500 yen, and height limits are 81, 90 or 102 cm. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast had our longest recorded wait, 83 minutes on average.

  • Premier Access: 7 rides, 1,000 to 2,500 yen per access, bought in the app after you enter the park.
  • Height limits: 81 cm for Baymax, 90 cm for Splash Mountain and Gadget’s Go Coaster, 102 cm for Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours.
  • Space Mountain: not on the current list. Space Mountain Earthrise, a new indoor roller coaster, opens in 2027.
  • Shortest waits: 7 p.m. on weekdays, when the top 10 rides averaged 25 minutes.

The Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo Disneyland attractions list showed 37 results when we checked it for 8 October 2026. That count includes theaters, play areas and an arcade, so the number of true rides is smaller. The list sorts everything into seven themed lands: World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland. Our wider guide to Tokyo Disneyland attractions walks through each land. This page focuses on the rides: which ones queue longest, which ones small children can board, and which ones are worth paying to skip.

Best Tokyo Disneyland rides by posted wait

The best Tokyo Disneyland rides are also the ones with the longest lines. japan-japan.com recorded the posted standby time of every attraction from 3 to 8 October 2026. That covered two weekend days and four weekdays during the Halloween season. Averages run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. while each ride was operating.

These are the 12 rides with the longest average posted wait, in order:

  1. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast (Fantasyland): 83 minutes on average, highest posted 160 minutes.
  2. The Happy Ride with Baymax (Tomorrowland): 61 minutes, highest 160 minutes.
  3. Splash Mountain (Critter Country): 52 minutes, highest 140 minutes.
  4. Haunted Mansion “Holiday Nightmare” (Fantasyland): 46 minutes, highest 120 minutes.
  5. Pooh’s Hunny Hunt (Fantasyland): 44 minutes, highest 100 minutes.
  6. Big Thunder Mountain (Westernland): 42 minutes, highest 160 minutes.
  7. Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! (Tomorrowland): 42 minutes, highest 120 minutes.
  8. Peter Pan’s Flight (Fantasyland): 27 minutes, highest 50 minutes.
  9. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin (Toontown): 18 minutes, highest 40 minutes.
  10. Beaver Brothers Explorer Canoes (Critter Country): 16 minutes, highest 55 minutes.
  11. Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions (Adventureland): 16 minutes, highest 40 minutes.
  12. Snow White’s Adventures (Fantasyland): 16 minutes, highest 40 minutes.
Teacup ride vehicles in a domed ballroom with a chandelier at Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, Tokyo Disneyland

The photo shows Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, the ride at the top of that list. Riders board teacups that move through the story, and the queue peaked at 160 minutes on our board. Its weekend average was 97 minutes against 76 minutes on weekdays.

Some classics barely had a line. Pirates of the Caribbean averaged 12 minutes, “it’s a small world” 10 minutes and Western River Railroad 14 minutes. Castle Carrousel averaged 11 minutes and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey 8 minutes. Save these for the middle of the day, when the big rides are busiest.

Read these numbers as a guide, not a forecast. They are the times shown to guests, not measured queues, and they cover only 6 days in early October. Other months and public holidays can look very different (data: Powered by ThemeParks.wiki).

The sister park queues far longer. At Tokyo DisneySea, Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey averaged 125 minutes over the same days. Our Tokyo DisneySea guide covers that park.

Tokyo Disneyland roller coasters: Big Thunder and Splash Mountain

Tokyo Disneyland roller coasters today are Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and the small Gadget’s Go Coaster. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is the other thrill ride. The table below lists every ride with a height limit and its Premier Access fee.

Ride Themed land Min. height Access fee
The Happy Ride with Baymax Tomorrowland 81 cm 1,500 yen
Splash Mountain Critter Country 90 cm 1,500 yen
Gadget’s Go Coaster Toontown 90 cm Not sold
Big Thunder Mountain Westernland 102 cm 1,500 yen
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue Tomorrowland 102 cm Not sold
Tokyo Disneyland ride height limits — Five rides have a minimum height; the other rides have no height limit.

Big Thunder Mountain in Westernland is a runaway mine train with sudden drops and turns. Riders must be 102 cm or taller. Premier Access costs 1,500 yen. Its posted wait averaged 42 minutes but reached 160 minutes, and the weekend average of 65 minutes was double the weekday 32 minutes.

The red rock spires in the photo are Big Thunder Mountain. A runaway mine train races past them on sudden drops and turns.

Splash Mountain in Critter Country is a thrilling log boat ride. The height limit is 90 cm, and Premier Access is 1,500 yen. We recorded a 52-minute average and a high of 140 minutes. Its busiest hour was 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The official closure list shows Splash Mountain closed from 7 January to 4 February 2027.

Gadget’s Go Coaster in Toontown is a Toon-size coaster for families. It needs 90 cm and has no Premier Access. Its average posted wait was only 13 minutes, so it works well as a first coaster for children.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue in Tomorrowland is a motion simulator on a Starspeeder 1000. It needs 102 cm and does not sell Premier Access.

Space Mountain is not on the official list of 37 attractions. Its replacement is covered in the section on closed rides below.

Height limits on Tokyo Disneyland rides for small children

Only five rides have height limits, so most of the park is open to small children. The official limits are 81 cm for The Happy Ride with Baymax, 90 cm for Splash Mountain and Gadget’s Go Coaster, and 102 cm for Big Thunder Mountain and Star Tours. There is no age limit. Children under 7 must ride with someone aged 16 or older.

The chart above matches your child’s height to the rides they can board. A child under 81 cm can still ride everything without a limit. Each step up adds one or two rides.

Fantasyland has the most rides with no height limit. Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Peter Pan’s Flight, “it’s a small world”, Castle Carrousel and Alice’s Tea Party are all open to every height. Snow White’s Adventures passes through a dark forest where a scary witch lurks, which can upset some toddlers.

The giant storybook in the photo is the entrance to Pooh’s Hunny Hunt. Riders board a hunny pot and join Pooh as he searches for honey. It sells Premier Access for 1,500 yen and averaged 44 minutes on our board.

Dumbo The Flying Elephant is closed from 5 January to 22 October 2026, so check the closure list before you promise it. Children aged 3 and under need no Premier Access when the adult with them has one. The park rents strollers for 1,000 yen a day. They are for children who can sit up alone, aged 7 months or older, up to 100 cm and 15 kg. Pick one up at Stroller & Wheelchair Rentals in World Bazaar.

Premier Access prices by ride

Disney Premier Access is a paid time slot that cuts your wait on 7 Tokyo Disneyland rides. The Tokyo Disney Resort Disney Premier Access page lists the prices. Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast costs 2,500 yen per access, and four rides cost 1,500 yen.

Prices come from the official page. Waits come from our own record of posted times from 3 to 8 October 2026 (data: Powered by ThemeParks.wiki). If you buy one, Enchanted Tale saves the most time on average. Monsters, Inc. and Haunted Mansion are the cheapest at 1,000 yen and still averaged over 40 minutes.

The rules are strict. You buy in the app only after you enter the park. Each park ticket buys one Premier Access at a time, and nobody else can use it. You cannot change, cancel or refund it after purchase. Premier Access is sold in limited numbers and can sell out.

How Premier Access works on the day
You can buy the next one 60 minutes after purchase or after your admission time, whichever is earlier.

The flow above shows a Premier Access day. You enter, pick a ride and time, and pay by card in the app. At your time, scan your ticket or the app code and walk in through the Priority Access Entrance. You can buy the next one 60 minutes after purchase, or after your admission time, whichever comes first.

The app accepts cards issued abroad with JCB, VISA, MasterCard or American Express logos. Code payments such as PayPay or Alipay do not work. No app or card? Main Street House sells Premier Access all day. Ask a Cast Member for ディズニー・プレミアアクセス (Dizuni Puremia Akusesu, Disney Premier Access). Our Tokyo Disney Resort App guide covers sign-up.

You never have to pay. Every Premier Access ride also has a regular standby line. The free 40th Anniversary Priority Pass ended on August 31, 2026. The Tokyo Disney Resort Standby Pass page shows that Standby Pass is now used at shops, capsule toys and games, not rides. The Tokyo Disney Resort Theme Park Terms of Use ban trading or transferring Premier Access between guests.

When to ride: mornings, weekdays and 7 p.m.

Weekdays beat weekends by a wide margin. In our record, the top 10 rides averaged 58 minutes on the weekend and 36 minutes on weekdays. Saturday 3 October was the worst day at 73 minutes. Weekdays stayed between 33 and 39 minutes.

Check these before your ride day

The checklist above covers what to confirm before you go. Opening hours change by date, so look them up on the Park Operation Calendar. On 8 and 9 October 2026 the park opened from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The park may also open earlier than posted without notice.

The clock matters too. On the weekend, the top 10 rides peaked at 70 minutes at 10 a.m. and dropped to 44 minutes at 7 p.m. On weekdays they peaked at 43 minutes at 10 a.m. and fell to 25 minutes at 7 p.m. The 5 p.m. hour was also busy on both day types.

Each ride has its own pattern. Enchanted Tale was busiest from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., so head there only if you can be first through the gate. Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain peaked from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Baymax and Monsters, Inc. peaked from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. These six days are a record, not a prediction.

Space Mountain Tokyo: closed rides and 2027

Space Mountain Tokyo is not running now. It does not appear on the official list of 37 attractions, and neither does Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters. The Tokyo Disney Resort official website says Tomorrowland will change gradually from spring 2027, with two new attractions plus new shops and restaurants.

Closures and new rides to plan around. Point 1. Dumbo closed to 22 October. Closed since 5 January 2026. Point 2. Early 2027.
Closures and new rides to plan around

The three points above sum up the closures and openings to plan around. Space Mountain Earthrise opens in 2027, with no season given yet. It is an all-new indoor roller coaster with a newly developed ride system. It will be the first Tokyo Disney Resort coaster with an onboard audio system. Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, a game-style ride based on Wreck-It Ralph, opens in spring 2027.

Three attractions are closed now. Swiss Family Treehouse has been closed since 1 April 2022 with no reopening date. Dumbo The Flying Elephant is closed until 22 October 2026. Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall closed from 1 October 2026, also with no end date.

Several big rides pause in early 2027:

  • Peter Pan’s Flight: 6 January to 2 February 2027.
  • Jungle Cruise: 6 January to 30 March 2027.
  • Splash Mountain: 7 January to 4 February 2027.
  • Haunted Mansion: 8 January to 4 February 2027.
  • Star Tours: 5 February to 18 February 2027.

Haunted Mansion “Holiday Nightmare” runs from September 15, 2026 to January 7, 2027, so the overlay ends just before the closure. Attractions can close or change without notice, and closure dates can move.

Getting to Tokyo Disneyland for a ride day

A ride day starts before opening, since the morning hour is the busiest for Enchanted Tale. The Airport Limousine bus runs straight to the park and the resort hotels. From Haneda it takes 40 minutes and costs 1,300 yen. The first bus leaves at 07:35 and the last at 18:50. Our Haneda Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort page lists the bus stops. By train, the Keikyu Line and JR take 59 minutes for 880 yen, with two changes to Maihama Station.

From Narita the Airport Limousine bus takes 56 minutes and costs 2,900 yen. Board at stop 10 at Terminal 1, stop 17 at Terminal 2 or stop 9 at Terminal 3. The Narita Airport to Tokyo Disney Resort page has the first and last buses. On local trains, a Suica card saves buying paper tickets.

Suitcases and roller cases are not allowed in the park. The Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo Disneyland storage lockers page lists coin lockers around the Main Entrance from 500 yen to 1,500 yen. There are two locations inside the park and seven outside, and you must collect your items the same day. On busy days, temporary baggage storage takes suitcases for 1,500 yen per item.

If it rains, put your umbrella with your belongings inside the ride vehicle. The Tokyo Disney Resort Tokyo Disneyland map page notes that guide maps are not handed out, so download the park map first. For November weather, see our Tokyo in November guide. Which Disneyland rides people in Japan recommend

In October 2026 we ran an online survey of people living in Japan who have been to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea. 123 people answered; after removing answers that clearly contradicted themselves, 100 remained. The numbers below are shares of those respondents, not of all visitors. See the full survey results and how we asked.

Asked which Tokyo Disneyland attractions they would recommend to a first-timer (more than one answer allowed), the 99 who had been named Pooh’s Hunny Hunt (38.4%), Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast (35.4%), Big Thunder Mountain (32.3%), Splash Mountain (26.3%) and “it’s a small world” (26.3%). As the single best attraction, 24.2% (24 of 99) chose Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, more than any other.

Asked which attractions are not worth a long wait, 47.5% (47 of 99) said none in particular; the most named were Pirates of the Caribbean (21.2%), “it’s a small world” (14.1%) and Western River Railroad (12.1%).

“Big Thunder Mountain at Tokyo Disneyland. It doesn’t drop much, but it’s great fun, so it suits people who don’t like scary rides but still want a roller coaster.”
