The Kyoto Subway & Bus 1-Day Pass costs 1,100 yen for 1 day (subway stations, city buses and sales points in Kyoto); children pay 550 yen. Valid only on the day you first use it, not for 24 hours. All Kyoto City Subway lines (Karasuma and Tozai) and all Kyoto City Bus routes.

Children aged 6 to 11 (elementary school students) pay the child price.

What the pass covers

  • All Kyoto City Subway lines (Karasuma and Tozai) and all Kyoto City Bus routes.
  • Kyoto Bus routes to Ohara, Iwakura, Ichihara, Daikakuji, Kiyotaki and Kokedera; seasonal routes are excluded.
  • Keihan Bus in the Yamashina and Daigo areas and central Kyoto, with some routes excluded.
  • West Japan JR Bus Takao-Keihoku line between Kyoto Station and Toganoo.

Not covered

  • Other railways such as Kintetsu and the Keihan Otsu Line cost extra.
  • Late-night buses need an extra fee.

Where to buy it

  • Sold at subway stations, the information center, on city buses, and at some convenience stores, tourist information centers and hotels in Kyoto.
  • You can buy it in advance; it does not have to be used on the day you buy it.

Seats and using the pass

  • Insert the pass into the ticket gate; the date is printed on the back the first time.
  • If your first ride is on a Keihan Bus, write the date on the ticket with a permanent marker.

Refunds

Unused passes can be refunded for 200 yen per ticket.

Good to know

  • Show the pass on the day of use for discounts at museums, shops and other places.
