Karaage-kun Price at Lawson: 6 Flavors, 5 Pieces Each
Karaage-kun (からあげクン) is Lawson’s bite-size fried chicken. Lawson sells it from the hot snack case, one serving of 5 pieces at a time. Karaage is the Japanese word for fried food like this, and Karaage-kun is the brand name you will see on the label.
The Lawson fried food list shows all six flavors side by side with their prices. Each flavor also has its own product page with nutrition and allergen details. The numbers on this page come from those pages and from the labels we photographed in a store.

Five flavors share one price. The sixth, Karaage-kun Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja, costs 298 yen with tax (276 yen before tax).
Karaage-kun flavors and prices
Lawson’s list on 21 October 2026 had six Karaage-kun flavors. Lawson’s pages give the names in Japanese only, so the English flavor names on this page are our own.
| Flavor | Japanese name | Before tax | With 8% tax |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja (NEW) | サクッと!
Five flavors cost 267 yen before tax and 288 yen with tax. By our count, that covers 5 of the 6 flavors: Regular, Red, Hokkaido Cheese, Lemon and Dashi Soy Sauce.
Only Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja costs more. It is 276 yen before tax and 298 yen with tax, and Lawson marks it NEW on the fried food list. The Lawson (official site): Karaage-kun Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja page lists the same price.

Every price here is the Lawson standard price The Lawson (official site): Karaage-kun Regular page explains what that means. It is the price that Lawson’s head office recommends to its franchise stores.
Because it is a recommendation, the price in a given store can differ. The same page notes that some stores and areas may not carry the product at all. Read the label in the case before you order, because the label is the price that store charges.
Each flavor has its own product page, such as the Lawson (official site): Karaage-kun Red page. The price, the serving size, the nutrition and the store notes on those pages are what this guide uses.

What is in a serving: pieces and calories
Every Karaage-kun flavor is one serving of 5 pieces. Energy per serving runs from 225 kcal for Red to 257 kcal for Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja, by our count from the six product pages.

| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese | 257 kcal |
| Hokkaido Cheese | 249 kcal |
| Lemon | 247 kcal |
| Dashi Soy Sauce | 229 kcal |
| Regular | 226 kcal |
| Red | 225 kcal |
Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja (257 kcal), Hokkaido Cheese (249 kcal) and Lemon (247 kcal) sit at the top. Dashi Soy Sauce (229 kcal), Regular (226 kcal) and Red (225 kcal) sit close together at the bottom.
Lawson lists these main nutrition figures per serving of 5 pieces.
| Flavor | Energy | Protein / fat | Salt equivalent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | 226 kcal | 14.4 g / 15.4 g | 1.5 g |
| Red | 225 kcal | 14.3 g / 15.1 g | 1.7 g |
| Hokkaido Cheese | 249 kcal | 14.6 g / 17.5 g | 1.7 g |
| Lemon | 247 kcal | 13.3 g / 17.6 g | 1.7 g |
| Dashi Soy Sauce | 229 kcal | 14.4 g / 15.7 g | 1.7 g |
| Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja | 257 kcal | 14.1 g / 18.5 g | 1.6 g |
Lawson’s pages label the energy figures as reference values.
For allergens, open the product page for your flavor. Each page has a 28-item allergen table, and the items in the product are shaded. The Jagarico page adds one more note: the product also contains fish sauce powder, which sits outside the 28-item list.
Lawson also says the label on the product in the store can differ from the website. The area and changes to the recipe can both cause that. Check the allergen line on the label in the case as well as the page. We checked the pages on 21 October 2026.
Lawson adds that its products may share production and cooking lines with products that contain other allergens. If an allergy is serious for you, Lawson asks you to make the final decision yourself, with your doctor if needed.
How to find Karaage-kun in a Lawson store
We visited a Lawson store in Tokyo on 20 October 2026. We photographed the labels for all six flavors in the hot snack case. Each label showed 5 pieces, the energy, the price before tax, the price with tax and a line of allergens.
Each label also printed an English name. All six start with KARAAGE-KUN Fried Chicken, so you can find them even if you cannot read Japanese.

The English names on the labels are not the same as the flavor names we use on this page. Use the table to match each label to the Japanese name and to say it out loud.
| English name on the label | Japanese name | How to say it |
|---|---|---|
Three label names differ from the flavor names on this page. Red is labeled Hot, Dashi Soy Sauce is labeled Seasoned Soy Sauce, and Hokkaido Cheese is labeled Cheese. The label for Red also notes in Japanese that it uses chili pepper.

The case we saw had two door handles. A sign on them was in Japanese only: この取っ手を引いてください (kono totte o hiite kudasai). It means “please pull this handle”.
The Jagarico flavor had a label too, with the same KARAAGE-KUN Fried Chicken start to its English name. Its prices on the label were 276 yen before tax and 298 yen with tax, the same as Lawson’s page.
The before-tax price and the with-tax price sit on the same label. The with-tax price is the take-away price at the 8% rate.
A few Japanese words on the label help even when the English name is enough. 税抜 (zeinuki) marks the price before tax, and 税込 (zeikomi) marks the price with tax. 5個 (go-ko) means 5 pieces. The last line on the label lists the allergens in Japanese. If you cannot read that line, open the product page for your flavor, or ask the staff before you buy.
We bought nothing to test taste or size. This page does not rank the flavors, and the label is the best guide to what is in the case that day.
Karaage-kun among Lawson’s hot snacks
Our Lawson Japan food guide holds 34 items from Lawson’s hot snack list, checked 21 October 2026. Six of them are Karaage-kun flavors.
The median price of the 34 hot snacks is 208 yen with tax. Only 3 of the 34 cost more than 288 yen: Karaage-kun Jagarico Mentaiko Cheese Monja, L-Kara Fried Chicken, 4 Pieces, and Golden Chicken, Bone-In.

Lawson’s other fried chicken is L-Chiki Regular, one piece for 248 yen with tax.

| Item | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Karaage-kun Jagarico | 298 yen | |
| Karaage-kun, 5 flavors | 288 yen | |
| L-Chiki Regular | 248 yen | 1 piece |
| Median of 34 hot snacks | 208 yen |
Our Lawson food guide has the price, allergens and store notes for each of the other items.
The other big chains sell their own fried chicken, and we cover them on separate pages. FamilyMart’s version is in our guide to Famichiki prices in Japan. Nana Chiki and the rest of 7-Eleven’s counter food are in our guide to 7-Eleven Japan hot snacks.
Not at Natural Lawson, and other limits
All six Karaage-kun flavors carry Lawson’s note that they are not sold at Natural Lawson. If you walk into a Natural Lawson, you will not find Karaage-kun in the case.
The note is common on the hot snack list. Across the 34 hot snacks in our database, 19 carry it, by our count.
Natural Lawson is a separate Lawson store type with its own sign. Our page on Natural Lawson stores covers what this store type is. Lawson had 132 Natural Lawson stores at the end of September 2026.

Lawson’s product pages add three more notes, checked 21 October 2026. Some stores and areas may not carry the product. It can end without notice in some areas. A few stores may start selling a product on a different date.
The list also shows a Karaage-kun Red 3x flavor box of 20 pieces. Its delivery price is 1,528 yen with tax. Lawson sells it only at stores that offer delivery, and it is not displayed in stores.
Eating it in the store and tax
The with-tax prices in this guide use the 8% rate for food you take away. If you eat at a store’s tables, the food counts as dining out and is taxed at 10%.
Our guide to Japanese convenience store food explains the two rates and other konbini basics.
The 8% figure is the one printed as the with-tax price on the labels we saw.
Lawson’s product pages give only the price with tax, such as 288 yen for Karaage-kun Regular. The before-tax prices in this guide, 267 yen and 276 yen, are the ones printed on the labels we photographed in Tokyo. Both figures sit on every Karaage-kun label in the case, so you can check either one against this page.
For which cards, apps and cash options work at the register, see our Lawson Japan payments guide.
How we checked the prices on this page
We read the Lawson fried food list and the Karaage-kun product pages on 21 October 2026. The prices, serving sizes, nutrition and store notes on this page come from those pages.
On 20 October 2026 we photographed the labels for all six flavors at a Lawson store in Tokyo. The label prices matched Lawson’s product pages for all six.
The labels showed 267 yen before tax (288 yen with tax) for five flavors. They showed 276 yen before tax (298 yen with tax) for the Jagarico flavor.
We then matched the six flavors against the 34 hot snacks in our Lawson food database. That gave the median of 208 yen, the 3 items above 288 yen and the 19 items with the Natural Lawson note.
We also read the notes on each product page: what the Lawson standard price means, the store and area limits and the 28-item allergen table. Where a product page and a store label could differ, this guide gives the page figure and says when a label matched it.
We did not buy Karaage-kun to test taste or size, so this page gives no ranking. Prices can change, and the label in the store is the final word.
