Annual special exhibition of treasures from the Shosoin repository. The first exhibition was held in 1946 (Showa 21), and 2026 marks 80 years since then. Open every day during the exhibition, 8:00 to 18:00 (to 20:00 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays); last entry 60 minutes before closing. Admission is by date-and-time-designated ticket: general 2,000 yen, high school and university students 1,500 yen, elementary and junior high school students 500 yen. Shika no Tsunokiri (Deer Antler Cutting)鹿の角きり	Two days in early November: 7 and 8 November in 2026. The event moved from October to November from 2025.	Deer enclosure antler-cutting ground inside Kasuga Taisha's precincts (Nara Park), Nara. A traditional event with about 350 years of history in which handlers chase male deer into a ring and cut their antlers, held as part of the coexistence of deer and Nara's people. 11:45 to 15:00 (doors 11:15, last entry 14:30). Held in light rain; cancelled in severe weather. Admission, sold on the day only: adults (junior high school and over) 1,000 yen, children (elementary school) 500 yen.
