What the pass covers

  • Non-reserved seats on JR limited express, rapid and local trains between Nagoya and Toyama (Takayama Line), between Tsuruga, Kyoto and Osaka, and between Osaka and Kansai Airport.
  • Non-reserved seats on the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Toyama and Tsuruga.
  • Nohi, Toyama Chitetsu, Hokutetsu and Meitetsu buses between Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa and Toyama; most need a reservation.
  • Nohi, Kaetsuno and Dolphin Traffic buses between Takayama, Shirakawa-go and Shin-Takaoka.
  • The Kaetsuno Bus World Heritage Bus between Shirakawa-go and Shin-Takaoka Station.

Not covered

  • The Tokaido Shinkansen between Kyoto and Shin-Osaka; riding it costs the fare and the extra charge.
  • Sights and facilities off the lines on the map may cost extra.
  • The fare from Toyama Station to Unazuki Station is not included.

Seats and using the pass

Seats
Reserved seats on JR limited express trains and the Hokuriku Shinkansen are free up to 6 times.
  • The validity starts on the start date you specify.
  • You can reserve seats at a reserved seat ticket machine by inserting your pass; up to four passes at once.
  • Book the buses from Kanazawa or Toyama to Shirakawa-go, and some Takayama buses, in advance; the Shin-Takaoka–Shirakawa-go buses need no booking.

Refunds

Refunds carry a handling fee, and there are no refunds or extensions for train cancellations or delays.

Good to know

  • Pass holders get 10% off the Kurobe Gorge Railway fare from Unazuki to Kanetsuri and Keyakidaira.
  • Pick up an online booking at a station with your passport, the credit card used and the reservation number.
  • Only the person it is issued to can use the pass.
  • Lost or stolen passes are not reissued.
