What visa-free entry does not cover

  • Paid work. A short stay excludes remunerative activities.
  • Stays over 90 days, apart from the 6-month arrangements above.
  • A guaranteed entry. The immigration officer decides at the airport.
  • If you leave Japan during a Temporary Visitor stay, the next arrival is a new entry, and anyone who is not from a visa-exempt country or region needs a visa again.
