Peace Message Lantern Floatingピースメッセージとうろう流しEvery year on 6 August, in the eveningMotoyasu River in Peace Memorial Park, opposite the Atomic Bomb Dome. Paper lanterns are floated on the Motoyasu River on the evening of 6 August. Anyone can take part; lantern paper is on sale at reception tents from 7:00 to 20:30 and floating starts at 18:00. In 2026 the event ran from 18:00 to 21:30 with a lantern ceremony from 17:30. Only lanterns made entirely of paper may be floated. Official page
