Can I use my hair straightener in Japan? Voltage and plugs
Yes, if its INPUT includes 100V. Panasonic says its hair irons rated AV100-120V/220-240V switch voltage by themselves and can be used abroad, while its AC100V models cannot be used outside Japan.
Read INPUT on the iron
A range that includes 100V works in Japan. A range that starts above 100V does not.

- INPUT includes 100V, such as 100-240V: no voltage converter.
- INPUT 220-240V only: Japan's 100V is outside the range. You need a voltage converter (JNTO) or a dual-voltage iron.
- Plug that is not two flat pins: a plug adapter to Type A.
